Andy and Josh are back just in time for your Monday commute. After another meandering introduction, which includes Andy's thoughts on seasons 2-4 of Game of Thrones, we dive into the recent COVID news (44:30). What does it mean that the Pfizer vaccine is officially approved? We discuss employer driven vaccine mandates, masking in schools, and joke about ivermectin. We take a look at the week 0 AP and Coaches Polls, and are way too optimistic about the Ohio State football team's schedule (1:25:12). We close out with an extended List of the Week - our Top 10 Favorite Video Games of All Time (1:36:35). There were so many options we just couldn't keep it to five.
NOTE: in an upcoming episode, we will be reviewing Kirk Herbstreit's new book, Out of the Pocket: Football, Fatherhood, and College GameDay Saturdays. Read along with us, and enjoy this episode!

Wednesday Sep 01, 2021
After an extended summer break, Andy and Josh are back and boy do they have a lot to say. After taking some time to recap the dog days of summer, the guys jump into sports (33:40). Josh provides a quick NBA finals epilogue, and Andy recaps some European soccer news. Next we transition to COVID (1:11:30). Honestly, this section is pretty ranty and outdated, and we will discuss all the big news in the next episode. We wind down with some miscellaneous news nugget (1:39:46), before closing with our List of the Week - Andy's Top 5 Least Favorite Game of Thrones season 1 characters (2:12:00). Yes, one of the hosts is a decade late to joining the zeitgeist, but he'll be recapping his series binge over the next couple of episodes. We're happy to be back - enjoy!

Andy and Josh are back and it's time to get serious. We take some time to catch up but then dive in to the Johnson and Johnson vaccine pause (8:54). Surprise surprise, we have a lot of say, and by the time you hear this, the pause has ended. We discuss public opinion on the news, alternative options, and vaccine hesitancy here and abroad. We shift gears and dwell on all the awful news around the police shootings that occurred this month (42:46). Andy leads us through the Chauvin trial, and we remember Daunte Wright and Adam Toledo. This section is emotional. We move on to discussing a recent Ezra Klein podcast on the societal impact of boomers on millennials and the forces that affect our generation (1:17:22). Episode 20 - Random Grab Bag and Top 5 Columbus Restaurants
Thursday Apr 08, 2021
Thursday Apr 08, 2021
We are back and this episode is so random. We open with vaccine news of a personal sort – Andy and Josh are on their way to being fully vaccinated. We bask in the warm glow of science for a while, before moving on to a myriad of topics. We start with the Grammys, of all things (19:00). Andy does his best Ben Shapiro impression while Josh is left to defend the virtues of W.A.P. Yes, that is a real sentence. We do a 180 and transition to talking about the American Recovery Act, specifically the updates to the child tax credit (28:30). Andy tells us what’s going on in hockey, Josh touches on basketball, but we spend a good chunk of time discussing what a return to normal looks like (41:50). Josh seeks some advice on child punishment methods (58:00), before we bounce around to some miscellany: Biden’s solo press conference, abolishing day light savings time, and girl scout cookie power rankings (1:09:00). We close with the List of the Week – Top 5 Columbus restaurants (1:24:00). There are lots of stories. Enjoy!

Episode 19 - The Social Media Episode and Top 5 Favorite Board Games
Sunday Mar 21, 2021
Sunday Mar 21, 2021
In this episode, Andy and Josh are back to discuss the omnipresence (and omnipotence?) of social media. We start by giving a brief history on the emergence of big social media platforms, and our early experiences with them. We move on to discuss how social media exacerbated a newsworthy incident at a local high school (15:00). Around the 30 minute mark we step back to discuss social media as a whole, and it goes all over the place. We try to answer some tough questions: how destructive is Facebook really? Why do Republicans care so much about Dr. Seuss and the Potato Heads? Why can't Josh stop dunking on people via social media? Finally, we close with our List of the Week - our Top 5 Favorite Board Games (1:14:30). We have runners up, stinging burns, and stories. Have a great week!
